This page identifies what is considered canon by the wiki and what can and cannot be included in its pages.

Canon: "In fiction, canon is the material accepted as officially part of the story in an individual universe of that story by its fan base. It is often contrasted with, or used as the basis for, works of fan fiction."

Primary canon

Primary canon sources are from the television shows and movies produced by MGM. The characters, technology, locations and events of these shows and movies are the primary canon that override most other sources. They include:

Where other sources contradict these, the primary source is considered first. If secondary or tertiary sources provide additional information that does not contradict information shown on screen, then it is considered for use.

Secondary canon

Secondary canon sources are those that provide other pieces of information that doesn't necessarily contradict primary sources, such as the majority of the Stargate movie. They can also include behind the scenes features from the home media releases, production images and schematics, etc.

Tertiary canon

Tertiary canon include anything else stated by the writers, director, producers, cast and crew in other media.

Non-canon

There is a large amount of non-canon material such as books, comics, etc. that are not considered usable on this wiki, but can be included in the non-canon wiki.

Fan fiction

Fan fiction are stories created by fans that include information from other sources. No fan fiction is canon on this wiki.
