Earth is a planet in the Solar System in the Milky Way and the homeworld of the Tau'ri.

Earth has one moon. (SG1: "The Nox")

The Ancients were on Earth around five to ten million years ago but left aboard Atlantis. (SG1: "Frozen", SGA: "Rising") Humans first evolved on Earth. (SG1: "The Enemy Within") At some point a Stargate was put on Earth in what would become Antarctica. (SG1: "Solitudes") Around 8000 B.C. the Goa'uld Ra found Earth and humans, finding them to be perfect hosts for his species. In Ancient Egypt there was a rebellion took place forcing Ra from Earth. (Stargate) The Asgard came to Earth at some point and continued to keep an eye on their development. From at least 1977 to 1984 the Asgard Loki abducted Tau'ri in order to examine them to find solutions to the Asgard cloning issues. (SG1: "Fragile Balance") In 1997 Earth began to explore worlds through the Stargate. (SG1: "Children of the Gods") The Goa'uld Apophis began an attack on Earth with two Ha'taks but there were destroyed, producing a large fireball seen in many places on Earth. (SG1: "Within the Serpent's Grasp", "The Serpent's Lair")

In 1999 the System Lords began to realize that Earth was a potential threat so the Asgard stepped in and negotiated to include Earth in the Protected Planets Treaty, saving the planet from attack by the System Lords. (SG1: "Fair Game") The Replicator-controlled Biliskner came to Earth to consume its raw materials but the ship was destroyed as it entered the atmosphere. (SG1: "Nemesis") A single Replicator survived and took over the Russian submarine Blackbird where it made more Replicators. The original Replicator was destroyed and the rest were taken out when the submarine was blown up. (SG1: "Small Victories") Earth was almost destroyed by the Goa'uld when they set an asteroid on a collision course with Earth. SG-1 took the asteroid into hyperspace and took it right through Earth to save it. (SG1: "Fail Safe")

Anubis used an Ancient Stargate destroyer to try to destroy Earth by causing the Stargate to explode and cause environmental effects that would end all life on Earth; the Stargate was destroyed but it was in orbit and the second Stargate took its place. (SG1: "Redemption, Part 1", "Redemption, Part 2") When Thor's consciousness was trapped aboard Osiris' Ha'tak, he directed the ship to Earth for help. Some of Anubis' Jaffa directed the ship to crash into the Pacific Ocean, which was reported to the public as a meteor. (SG1: "Descent") Osiris came to Earth to control Jackson's dreams in order to learn the location of the Lost City. (SG1: "Chimera") Anubis took a fleet of ships to Earth and began taking out power grids and communications systems waiting to see if they had Ancient weapons. SG-1 found an Ancient outpost in Antarctica and used its weapons to destroy the fleet and save Earth. (SG1: "Lost City, Part 2") Anubis remained in orbit among the debris of his fleet, trapped, until the International Space Station passed by and he was able to get down to Earth. (SG1: "Lockdown")

The Trust was taken over by the Goa'uld who infiltrated Russia and worked towards starting a nuclear war that would kill everyone so they could recover the Antarctic outpost for themselves. Their plan was uncovered and stopped. (SG1: "Full Alert") Ba'al came to Earth to hide out after the defeat of the Goa'uld. A Ha'tak from the Free Jaffa Nation arrived in orbit of Earth, hiding behind the moon while Jaffa were sent down to search for Ba'al. (SG1: "Ex Deus Machina") The PRIOR2 virus began spreading on Earth and killed over 3,000 people before it was stopped. (SG1: "The Fourth Horseman, Part 1", "The Fourth Horseman, Part 2") Arkad was planning an attack on Earth and had sent a Tel'tak to the planet with a supply of Naquadah aboard. The ship was later found. (SG1: "Talion", "Family Ties") Seven Ori Warships arrived to attack Earth but waited due to the Antarctic outpost; they later left after the Ark of Truth convinced them the Ori were not gods. (Stargate: The Ark of Truth)

The Wraith managed to infiltrate the SGC to try to make a foothold on Earth but all of the Wraith were killed. (SGA: "Midway") A Hive ship powered by a Zero Point Module received coordinates of Earth and headed there to attack. They launched Darts which attacked Area 51 and destroyed the Control chair there. The Hive was engaged by Atlantis and eventually destroyed but Atlantis was forced to land on Earth, returning home after millions of years. (SGA: "Enemy at the Gate")
