Dr. Elizabeth Weir is a female Asuran, the former commander of Stargate Command and the commander of the Atlantis expedition.

Biography

Early life

When she was young she wanted to be an astronaut and at her 12th birthday, her parents gave her a telescope. (SGA: "The Real World") Her father used to have weekly Poker games that she sometimes observed. (SG1: "New Order, Part 1") She speaks five languages and is an expert in international politics. Weir was responsible for brokering a dozen sensitive international treaties and mediates for the United Nations. She taught a political science class at Georgetown. (SG1: "Lost City, Part 1")

Stargate Command

In 2004 she was invited to the White House to speak with the President. She was picked up by Vice President Robert Kinsey who informed her about the Stargate Program and took her to the White House where she was able to read a number of file from the SGC. She met with Hayes who offered her a job as the leader of the SGC and she arrived at the base to take command. She met with Daniel Jackson who wanted to know more about why she had been appointed. Bra'tac arrived and informed them that Anubis was bringing a fleet of ships to Earth and held a briefing with SG-1 which Kinsey joined. Weir allowed Teal'c to go with Bra'tac and told Jack O'Neill that if they discovered the location of the Lost City, she would consider letting them go. Kinsey followed her into her office and told her that he wanted SG-1 gone and Weir replied that his agenda would not be taken into consideration for her decisions. (SG1: "Lost City, Part 1") After learning of a possible location of the Lost City, Weir allowed SG-1 to go in search of it. When Kinsey returned to go through the Stargate to the Alpha Site, power throughout the base was lost and Weir ordered a manual close of the Iris moments before an offworld activation occurred and a bomb was sent through. After receiving a message from SG-1, Weir spoke with the President about helping them and Kinsey said that he was relieving Weir of command only for the President to tell Kinsey to shut up. Weir told the President that sending Prometheus to cover SG-1 as they returned was their best choice. (SG1: "Lost City, Part 2")

She went to see Jackson to tell him that talks about the Antarctic outpost had stalled so he wouldn't be able to go there yet. After initially denying Carter and Teal'c access to the ship that O'Neill had modified in order to go and contact the Asgard, she was convinced by Carter to let them try. When the System Lords contacted the SGC about a treaty in exchange for them destroying Ba'al in the same way they had stopped Anubis, Weir led the talks. Weir rejected their offer of hyperdrives and instead wanting all of Ba'al's domain upon defeating him which the System Lords rejected. As the System Lords were leaving they learned an attack was incoming to test their defenses so Weir had them detained. (SG1: "New Order, Part 1") She spoke with Oshu, Yu's First Prime, who convinced her to let them go as they were of more use out there fighting Ba'al' Camulus requested asylum on Earth as Ba'al had already destroyed his armies and taken his domain and Weir accepted. Weir was reassigned to the Antarctic outpost to supervise the international research being undertaken and O'Neill was promoted to command the SGC. (SG1: "New Order, Part 2")

Atlantis

She began preparing the an expedition to Atlantis as she oversaw the research at the Antarctic outpost. Daniel Jackson informed her that he had discovered that Atlantis was in the Pegasus galaxy and it would be possible to reach it and she met with Jack O'Neill to ask him for permission to use the Zero Point Module from the outpost to power the Stargate. After it was discovered that John Sheppard had the Ancient Technology Activation gene and was able to use Ancient technology effortlessly, she asked him to join the expedition but he told her that he would think about it. She later asked O'Neill to speak with him and convince him to join. She recorded a goodbye for Simon Wallace, her partner, telling him why she was leaving. When the Stargate was successfully activated and Colonel Marshall Sumner was preparing his security teams to go, she stopped him and said that they would be going through together. (SGA: "Rising")

They discovered Atlantis intact but under the ocean of the planet they were on, protected by a shield. They soon learned that the shield was failing because of the power levels dropping. A team went offworld to look for a safe place to evacuate to and as time ran out she ordered an evacuation. The team returned with the Athosian survivors of a Wraith attack and suddenly the city began to rise to the surface of the ocean. Sheppard wanted to go after the people that had been taken but Weir wouldn't allow him to go on a suicide mission. They learned that the planet they had been taken to had a Spacegate but Sheppard was able to pilot a Puddle Jumper and Weir authorized a rescue mission. After returning, a small celebration took place and Weir shared some of the champagne O'Neill had sent along with Sheppard and Aiden Ford. She told Sheppard to give some thought to who would be on his team. (SGA: "Rising")

Weir was weary to allow the Athosians to help with the expeditions work due to the delicate nature of their work and the dangerous conditions that may occur in the city. She was annoyed that McKay had tested a Lantean Personal shield on himself and could not find a way to remove it. When Jinto went missing, Weir used the PA system to try to contact him. Teyla Emmagan brought an Athosian to her who said that she had seen a 'shadow', a projection of the Wraith and she reported it to Sheppard. After discovering that an energy entity was in the city, Weir mentioned that the shield McKay had would protect him in their plan to trap the creature and the device disabled itself. McKay later put it back on and took part in a plan to trick the entity into going through the Stargate. (SGA: "Hide and Seek") When Sheppard's team was trapped in a Jumper stuck in a Spacegate, Ford told her about their mission as Sheppard had been incapacitated when an Iratus bug attached itself to his neck. Weir had a team put together to work on solutions and after siding with the team over the opinions of Dr. Peter Kavanagh, he confronted her about humiliating him in front of his team and she threatened to send him offowlrd if he didn't work on the problem and put his ego aside. (SGA: "Thirty-Eight Minutes")

When Sheppard's team kept being attacked by the Wraith, Weir told Sheppard that it was obvious that there was a spy on Atlantis. She had the team meet without Teyla and had the Athosians confined to their quarters while she met with them and was met with some hostility from them because of the accusation. After a landmass was found on Lantea, the Athosians offered to go and explore and settle it, as it would prove their innocence when the team would be attacked again and Weir allowed them to go. When the team was attacked again, Teyla and Ford were left behind and later when Teyla dialed in, stating that Ford had been stunned, Sgt. Bates warned her they could be opening the city up for attack and Sheppard demanded they be let in and Weir allowed it. It was discovered that Teyla's necklace was a Wraith Transmitter and hadn't been activated until Sheppard had touched it so it was used to set a trap for the Wraith. (SGA: "Suspicion")

McKay came back with a ZPM that had powered an Electromagnetic field generator protecting some children from the Wraith and Weir was not convinced it should be taken regardless of how much power it had left. (SGA: "Childhood's End") While Beckett was working with the Hoffans on a drug to stop the Wraith from feeding on them and wanted to test it on the Wraith captive Atlantis had, Weir was concerned that it violated the Geneva Convention but ultimately gave permission. (SGA: "Poisoning the Well") To trade for food with the Genii, Sheppard offered C-4 for them to use to clear land and Weir was concerned about supplying them with weapons. She later authorized a mission with the Genii to gather intelligence from the Wraith. (SGA: "Underground")

A planet was discovered which offered a return to Earth and Weir and Sheppard's team went through but their return opportunity was destroyed and they became stuck. Weir went to see Simon but eventually noticed something different about him. She was upset when she was removed as leader of the expedition in exchange for a new military leader. When she went to talk to McKay she realized it was not him and demanded to know what was going on. Hammond came to her and revealed the world was created by the Mist on the planet they had been on as using the Stargate harmed them. They convinced the Mist to release them as they would leave and not come back. (SGA: "Home")

When a massive Hurricane was found to be approaching Atlantis and would destroy the city, Weir had Sheppard and Ford look for an evacuation point for the expedition as McKay and Zelenka came up with a plan to save the city. Weir remained on Atlantis to help with the plan and was captured when a Genii strike force arrived. Weir was forced to show the soldiers to a lab where the Wraith Data storage device was located and spoke with Sora, saying she was sorry about her father and tried to defend Teyla by saying that she was not repsonsible for her father's death but Sora refused to listen. When Sheppard took down some of Commander Acastus Kolya's men, he threatened to kill Weir but was talked down by McKay. (SGA: "The Storm") He had McKay fix a grounding station that had been damaged and brought Weir along to keep an eye on her. She told McKay to stall for as long as possible to allow Sheppard time to take down more soldiers. After fixing it, the plan to save the city appeared to fail and Weir told Kolya that their plan was a long shot and that he needed to evacuate his men. Kolya was going to take them with him but Sheppard attacked so Kolya took Weir as a hostage as he headed to the Stargate but she was rescued when Sheppard shot Kolya in the shoulder. (SGA: "The Eye")

2005

When Sheppard, McKay and two scientists were across the Lantean System, Weir had Ford put together a team to head out to provide backup just in case. (SGA: "The Defiant One") After a research team were exposed to a nanovirus, Weir imposed a quarantine on the city. Sheppard wanted to leave where he was to help but Weir had him locked in; he ordered Bates to open the door. After the virus had been stopped, Weir spoke to Sheppard stating that something like that should never happen again. (SGA: "Hot Zone") She was introduced to Chaya Sar and Weir tried to negotiate for refugees fleeing the Wraith to go to her world. Chaya was later revealed to be an ascended being and left to protect her world. (SGA: "Sanctuary")

On her birthday, Sheppard gave her a pot that the Athosians had made. After they found someone in stasis they were revived and she revealed that she was Weir from an Alternate Timeline. She recounted her story about travelling back in time and meeting the Lanteans. She gave them a list of addresses where ZPM's were located before she died. Weir had her cremated and sprinkled her ashes over the city. (SGA: "Before I Sleep") When a Dart was detected heading for the city, she mobilized pilots for the Jumpers as Sheppard was off world. After the Dart scanned the city and self-destructed, they learned that it had sent data to nearby Hive ships. (SGA: "The Brotherhood") McKay came up with a way to send a message back to Earth and Weir recorded several messages for the families of expedition members who had died and recorded a message for Simon Wallace, telling him not to wait for her. (SGA: "Letters From Pegasus")

She let Teyla go to a planet to learn more about why she was able to sense the Wraith and Sheppard's team discovered a hidden Wraith lab. Weir examined the data discovering that the Wraith language was a derivative of the Ancient language and along with Beckett learned that Teyla had some Wraith DNA in her genetic makeup. She allowed Teyla to use her hidden abilities to connect to Wraith minds and try to learn their plans but after Teyla reacted badly, Weir put a stop to it. Teyla wanted to try again and Weir allowed it, despite being concerned it could harm Teyla. (SGA: "The Gift") Weir helped go through a list to find a possible new Alpha Site for them to evacuate to. After Zelenka told her that they needed to destroy the Lantean database so the Wraith couldn't get it, she was surprised to learn that they would only be able to save 7-8% of it and take it with them. Halling came to see her to get her to consider not destroying Atlantis as it was the Pegasus galaxy's greatest hope. After the Lagrangian Point satellite destroyed one Hive ship but was then destroyed, Weir ordered an evacuation of the city. (SGA: "The Siege, Part 1")

A military team from Earth arrived to help defend the city and Colonel Dillon Everett relieved her of command and didn't want her to join in with the briefing. Sheppard said that including her would be better as many of the expedition trusted her. When the Wraith arrived, began attacking and disabled power, Weir and Everett observed from the control tower balcony and when a Dart exploded nearby Everett covered Weir from the explosion. A plan was developed to deliver nuclear bombs to the Hive ships and Weir had the Genii contacted. She went to the Genii homeworld and was interrogated by Prenum who said that she would be ransomed back for C-4. She told him that they were offering the C-4 and allowing them to test their weapons with no danger to themselves and convinced Prenum to take the deal. After the plan to remotely control the Jumpers failed, Sheppard went to fly one himself and Weir wanted to stop him but he told her it was the only way. (SGA: "The Siege, Part 2")

Sheppard was saved when the Daedalus arrived in orbit and when he was beamed back down after the Wraith had been defeated, she hugged him. After Ford was found in the ocean attached to a Wraith and his system had been flooded with Wraith enzyme, she told Beckett that he could harvest more from the Wraith bodies to treat him. When Ford came to see her about going back on duty, she was surprised and when Beckett arrived to tell Ford to go back to the infirmary and he attacked Beckett, she told Beckett to keep an eye on him and sedate him if he had to. A plan was developed to detonate a nuclear bomb above the city and then cloak it to make it appear that they had destroyed the city. (SGA: "The Siege, Part 3")

She returned with other senior staff to Earth to recruit more personnel and insisted that Sheppard remain as leader of the military on Atlantis, stating that they should promote him. She tried to get Simon to join the expedition but he refused and later told her that he had began seeing someone else. (SGA: "The Intruder") She authorized Sheppard's team to go offworld to search for Ford and later authorized sending Beckett to remove a Wraith Tracking device from a man holding Teyla hostage. (SGA: "Runner") When McKay and Lt. Laura Cadman were taken aboard a Dart, McKay was removed but Cadman's mind came along, sharing his body. As the two were at odds, Weir sent him to talk to Dr. Kate Heightmeyer. She was initially against having Ronon join Sheppard's team and later met with Ronon who said he was considering it. (SGA: "Duet")

After Sheppard's team went missing, Weir went with Major Evan Lorne and a team to Olesia and met with the Magistrate. They were later told that the Wraith had arrived so the search for the team had been called off. Marin informed Weir that the Magistrate was arresting people to be given to the Wraith. She, Lorne and the team left and helped Sheppard's team escape. (SGA: "Condemned") While working on Project Arcturus, a Lantean power source, and a scientist was killed, Weir had the research ended but was later convinced by Sheppard to try again when McKay was confident he could fix it. After McKay caused the destruction of most of the Dorandan System when Arcturus exploded, she yelled at him. (SGA: "Trinity")

She allowed Beckett to go offworld to run some research on his Iratus bug retrovirus. (SGA: "Instinct") When Sheppard was exposed to the retrovirus, she had him removed from duty and asked Colonel Steven Caldwell to temporarily take over Sheppard's duties. To help Sheppard they needed Iratus bug eggs and Weir reluctantly allowed a team to go to collect them. Sheppard wanted to go along but she wouldn't allow it, so he broke a window in her office. She got angry at Caldwell for changing some of Sheppard's postings, telling him he should have waited as him doing so made people think Sheppard was not going to make it. When the team failed, she went to see Sheppard and he escaped. After he was recaptured, Beckett came up with a plan to get Sheppard to obtain the eggs as the Iratus would not harm him. The plan worked and a cure was developed. (SGA: "Conversion")

Weir sent Sheppard's team to investigate a distress signal from a Lantean warship. When the team returned, she joined them in a toast to the crew of that ship. (SGA: "Aurora") Sending Sheppard's team to investigate the possible location of a ZPM, they failed to return so she sent Lorne's team to try to find them. (SGA: "The Lost Boys") McKay returned, having taken a massive dose of the Wraith enzyme and was unable to tell Weir what had happened before he collapsed. After he went through withdrawal, he told Weir that Ford had created a team who were all using the enzyme and she sent him aboard the Daedalus to try to rescue the rest of his team. (SGA: "The Hive")

2006

When Sheppard was pulled into a strange portal that allowed access to a Time dilation field, Weir went to investigate the portal and decipher the writings around it. She joined the team to enter and find Sheppard, who had been inside for over 6 months. (SGA: "Epiphany") After it was revealed that The Trust had planted a bomb on Atlantis, Weir began interviewing people who may have been involved, finding Dr. Peter Kavanagh's actions beforehand suspicious and suspecting him of being the operative. She allowed Ronon Dex to interrogate Kavanagh, who fainted before Ronon even touched him. They found that Colonel Steven Caldwell's command code was used to alter the city's safety protocols and Weir asked Hermiod to beam Caldwell to them who was revealed to be a Goa'uld. After the sabotage was undone, Weir remarked that sending Ronon to interrogate Kavanagh had crossed a line. (SGA: "Critical Mass")

After McKay was trapped aboard Jumper Six as it was sinking into the ocean of Lantea, Weir set teams to work on finding and rescuing him. She convinced Dr. Radek Zelenka to join the mission. (SGA: "Grace Under Pressure") When a Life pod is brought to Atlantis, Weir has the mind of Phoebus imprinted on her and she is unable to control her own body. Eventually Phoebus' mind fades away and Weir regains control. (SGA: "The Long Goodbye") When Ladon Radim contacts Atlantis wanting to trade a ZPM for military supplies in order to lead a Coup d'etat against Cowen, Weir has him brought to Atlantis and he tells her that Cowen intends to use their Nuclear bombs to conquer other worlds. She authorizes a team to track Ladon down and take his ZPM. Teyla and Ronon bring back wanted posters for some expedition personnel and Weir realizes all the people have the ATA gene. Sheppard and the team are captured and Cowen contacts her demanding Jumpers for their safe return. Ladon, who was working for Cowen, turns against him and frees the personnel and uses a nuclear bomb to kill Cowen and his elite guard. (SGA: "Coup D'etat")

When Michael Kenmore, a Wraith, was converted into a human, Weir spoke wit him and told him that he was a member of the expedition. After Michael learned the truth, Weir tried to convince him of the reasons why they had experimented on him, telling him that the Wraith were a threat. After Michael escaped, Weir said that as he had information on Atlantis, they were now under threat. (SGA: "Michael") Weir came to Taranis to negotiate with Chancellor Lycus to obtain access to the Orion, a Lantean warship. When it was discovered that a supervolcano was going to render the planet uninhabitable, Weir convinced Lycus to evacuate his people. After the Stargate was destroyed and Taranis couldn't be dialed into, Lycus accused her of kidnapping him to exchange for the the Orion but he later apologized when more of his people arrived on the Daedalus. (SGA: "Inferno")

When a Hive ship arrived at Atlantis with Michael aboard, they wanted the retrovirus to be used on enemy Wraith to convert them into a food source. Weir agreed to the plan and later mentioned to Beckett that she wasn't entirely ok with it. The Wraith later betrayed them after taking the location of Earth from the database. (SGA: "Allies") The IOA requested that Weir return to Earth as they wanted to question her over her decisions regarding working with the Wraith. She told the IOA members that she was working on a plan to stop the Wraith getting to Earth when they recalled her and if they wanted to override her orders, they would have to fire her first. (SGA: "No Man's Land") She returned to Atlantis with Richard Woolsey aboard an Asgard ship. When some converted Wraith were going to be rescued by other Wraith, she sent Sheppard's team to stop them. Woolsey later told Weir that his report would state that Weir had stopped the Wraith from escaping and that she would be keeping her position. (SGA: "Misbegotten")

She showed Daniel Jackson and Vala Mal Doran to the hologram room and later returned and was told that they had been speaking with an ascended being. She was informed that a Hive ship was heading towards the Odyssey performing a mission near a Black hole and so she dialed into Earth to get them to relay the message to Teal'c who could relay it through the Stargate. (SG1: "The Pegasus Project")

When Lucius Lavin was brought to Atlantis, Weir and the others became enamored with him and she began to defer to his command about things on the city. She and the others were eventually freed from his influence. (SGA: "Irresistible") When Ronon was captured by the Wraith, Weir authorized Sheppard's team to go after him. (SGA: "Sateda") After making contact with the Asurans, Weir joined Sheppard's team to go and meet them and found their leader Oberoth very arrogant and dismissive. They were prevented from leaving and soon discovered the Asurans were machines and they entered the visitors minds to learn they were from Atlantis. One of the Asurans, Niam, made a deal to get their help in removing aggressive programming from them in exchange for stopping an attack on Atlantis. Weir asked him to to come with them but after their escape he was reset and attacked Weir. (SGA: "Progeny")

Niam infected her with nanites that began to take control of her mind. They created an illusory world in her mind where she was in Willoughby State Hospital after a mental break and the Stargate and Atlantis never existed. She began to see a strange shadowy figure behind windows and refused to believe everything she had experienced was a hallucination. Afraid of the shadowy figure she began to take the medication she was given and was asked by Jack O'Neill to come back to negotiating for the United Nations. After another hallucination, she flushed her medication and while sleeping one night she followed the Shadowy figure only to be taken back to the hospital. Hearing Sheppard's voice telling her not to give up, she escaped and found the SGC. Seeing Sheppard there telling her not to believe what she was seeing she got to the Stargate where she was confronted by Niam who told her that it was too late. Defiant, she walked through Niam and the Stargate and awoke in the real world. (SGA: "The Real World")

After Sheppard was taken offworld, Weir contacted Ladon Radim as Sheppard's team had been sent to the planet after receiving the coordinates along with the Genii IDC. After Ladon arrived and told her that he did not give the code away, she did not believe him. Acastus Kolya contacted Atlantis, showing them he had Sheppard and wanted to exchange him for Ladon. Kolya allowed a captured Wraith to feed on Sheppard before giving Weir three hours before the next feeding to reconsider. She refused to allow Ladon to leave to find out who had given away the IDC. Kolya contacted them again but Weir refused to hand over Ladon and was forced to watch Sheppard be fed on again. She eventually relented and allowed Ladon to leave, but believed she had done the wrong thing. Ladon dialed in and gave them Kolya's location and she sent a rescue team after Sheppard. (SGA: "Common Ground")

She met Jeannie Miller, McKay's sister, when she came to Atlantis to work on a project with her brother. After an alternate reality McKay arrived on the city to stop their project as it was destroying his universe, a plan was developed to collapse the Matter bridge they had created and Weir was concerned it would drain the ZPM. (SGA: "McKay And Mrs. Miller") When Leonard's team went missing, Weir sent Sheppard's team and a marine unit to search for them. After they failed to check in, she had a UAV launched but it crashed. She later redirected the Daedalus to collect them. (SGA: "Phantoms")

When a ship full of Lanteans were found, they were transported back to Atlantis. The commander, Helia, took control of the city and asked the expedition to leave. When back on Earth Weir was not quite ready to move on and take a new position and didn't speak much to others. When the Asurans took control of Atlantis, they came up with a plan to take back the city before it was destroyed by the Daedalus. Weir distracted Dr. Bill Lee by talking to him about World of Warcraft while McKay gained access to Lee's computer. Without authorization they went back to the Pegasus galaxy. (SGA: "The Return, Part 1") They dropped a bomb off in the control tower to blind the sensors while they retrieved Niam's body. After getting back into the city Niam woke up and had to be destroyed so a new plan was developed to interface the Anti-Replicator guns with the shield emitters to wipe out the Asurans all at once. (SGA: "The Return, Part 2")

2007

After Teyla said she had seen a strange apparition of a Lantean, Weir witnessed one too and it was soon discovered that they were projections from Flagisallus, whale-like fish converging on Atlantis to warn them about a Coronal mass ejection that would be striking the planet. Weir soon succumbed to the frequency they were producing and collapsed. (SGA: "Echoes") She authorized Sheppard's team to go offworld to meet a "hero" who had saved a village. (SGA: "Irresponsible") When McKay was affected by a device, Weir examined the information on it and found that it had accelerated McKay's evolution but would kill him if he didn't ascend. McKay tried but couldn't get there, so Weir suggested "releasing his burden" by ridding himself of things that made him feel shame or anger. He later wrote a 500-page book on her and her accomplishments on Atlantis. McKay figured out how to get his DNA back and survived. (SGA: "Tao of Rodney")

After the "game" that Sheppard and McKay were playing turned out to be directing real people on another planet, Weir met with the leaders of the two countries to try to undo the issues that had arose but they were stubborn. He allowed Sheppard's team to go back to the planet to try to resolve the breakout of war. After a simulated war showed them how bad it could go, they agreed to return for Weir's help in negotiations. (SGA: "The Game") During a mandatory rest day, Weir was approached by Mike Branton who invited her for lunch, she initially turned him down stating that it would be inappropriate to date someone under her command but he said that it was just lunch. When Weir said she kind of believed that men and women couldn't be friends, he took her to finish their lunch overlooking the ocean. He kissed her but she pulled away and said that she shouldn't have had lunch with him in the first place. An explosion rocked the city and it was discovered that two scientists had been affected by a device and it cause them to grow explosive tumors. Beckett removed the tumor from the other scientist but it exploded and killed him and Weir spoke at a memorial service when his body was transported back to Earth. (SGA: "Sunday")

Weir joined a team to go under the ocean to examine a Mobile drilling platform. Teyla sensed a Wraith and reached out with her mind only to be taken over by a Wraith Queen. After the queen was captured, Weir didn't want Teyla to try to enter the queen's mind but relented and Teyla learned that an auto-destruct had been set on the queen's Cruiser. Weir allowed a plan that let Teyla trick the queen into thinking they had repaired her ship so she disabled the auto-destruct. (SGA: "Submersion") When the Taranians had not checked in, Weir sent Sheppard's team. She later sent a team of marines when Sheppard mentioned a strange coccoon. She was informed the marines had contacted back and said that everything was fine, but later when Sheppard's team returned they told her that the Taranians were dead and had been used by Michael Kenmore to experiment. (SGA: "Vengeance")

When the Apollo arrived at Atlantis with a plan to use Horizon, a weapon, to destroy ships that the Asurans were building, Weir was against this as it could lead to them focusing an attack on the city. After the attack, an Asuran Stargate satellite arrived in orbit and fired on the city. Weir made contact through this Stargate to Asuras and spoke with Oberoth but cut off contact when the Asurans tried to upload a virus. She authorized a plan to sink Atlantis to try to conserve shield power and later the plan to fly Atlantis off the planet. An asteroid was put in the satellite's weapon's path as the city took off but they didn't have enough power. Weir told McKay to lower the shield as it was taking the extra power. As they got high enough, McKay turned the shield back on but the weapon grazed the control tower and Weir was thrown backwards off the stairs. (SGA: "First Strike")

Suffering from a cerebral Edema, Dr. Jennifer Keller performed a Craniectomy on Weir but discovered there was nothing that could be done for Weir. She and McKay activated the nanites in Weir who began to repair the damage to her body. Weir told Teyla that she wouldn't have wanted them to do it due to what she had gone through last time with the nanites. (SGA: "Adrift") A plan was developed to go to Asuras to steal one of the ZPMs they had and Weir was asked to come along as the nanites in her would help them gain access to the Asuran network. Once at the planet, Weir was able to direct them to the nearest ZPM. McKay discovered a command that directed the Asurans to attack the Wraith so a plan was made to activate it. When Sheppard and Ronon became trapped, Weir entered the city and found Oberoth, using her nanites to take control of him and stop all the Asurans. She created a fake scenario where he overpowered her to get him to stop trying so the team could escape. She told the others to leave as she was surrounded by Asurans. (SGA: "Lifeline") Weir was believed by many to have been killed. (SGA: "This Mortal Coil") She had survived in nanite form and led the remnants of Niam's group. (SGA: "Be All My Sins Remember'd", "Ghost in the Machine")

2008

Weir led the remnants of Niam's group in meditation to get them to ascension. Koracen came up with a way of uploading their consciousnesses to subspace and from there figured they could reach higher levels from there. Finding themselves trapped, Weir began searching for a way to Atlantis and soon found Sheppard's team in a Jumper and entered its systems, causing a few errors before she brought it back online. Back on Atlantis she spread to its systems and made contact, asking for a new body to be made. She found the Nanite creation machine and formed a new body, using FRAN as a template. She learned that Teyla had a baby and was happy for her. She let the others know where she was and they arrived but started causing problems and Weir made a deal with them to have temporary nanite bodies but work on creating human bodies. When Koracen tried to escape, Weir stopped and disabled him. Realizing they were too dangerous, she convinced Atlantis to let them go and tricked them into going offworld, taking them a Spacegate where she and the others were disabled in the vacuum of space. (SGA: "Ghost in the Machine")

Alternate Timelines

  • In an alternate timeline, Atlantis began flooding shortly after the expedition arrived and she, Sheppard and Zelenka were trapped aboard a Time Jumper before being sent 10,000 years into the past. They were attacked by the Wraith and Sheppard and Zelenka were killed. Weir was rescued by the Lanteans who refused to allow her to return to her time but Janus helped her remain in the city in stasis until her time came around again. She awoke in 2005, having aged rapidly because of a power loss and explained what had happened to her to her alternate self. (SGA: "Before I Sleep")
