Home planet

Humans, also known as Homo sapien, are a diverse race of beings.

Most human species are almost completely identical to one another. (SG1: "Children of the Gods", "Singularity") Certain groups of humans have been subjected to physiological changes due to being on other planets such as Aris Boch's people who cannot be used as hosts by the Goa'uld, or the Enkarans who have a much lower tolerance to ultraviolet radiation. (SG1: "Deadman's Switch", "Scorched Earth") Humans are capable of reaching ascension without outside interference. (SGA: "Epiphany")

Known Human species

The Ancients may have had a hand in the creation of humans. (SG1: "Frozen") Humans evolved on Earth around 800,000 and 900,000 years ago, having gone through various ancestor species such as Australopithecus, Homo erectus and Neanderthal before reaching modern humans. (SG1: "Frozen", "The Broca Divide", "Message in a Bottle") The Lanteans seeded worlds in the Pegasus galaxy with humans. (SGA: "Rising") Around 8000 B.C. the Goa'uld Ra found Earth and discovered humans, finding them to be perfect hosts. (Stargate) He and other Goa'uld began taking humans from Earth to other worlds to be used as slaves or converted into Jaffa. (SG1: "Children of the Gods")
