History

SG-1 was one of the initial teams formed during the founding of Stargate Command. Their first mission was to go to Chulak with SG-2 to gain information on the Goa'uld and attempt a rescue of Sha're and Skaara. They went to Chulak City but were captured by Apophis. O'Neill convinced Teal'c, the First Prime of Apophis, to help him free the other prisoners and he turned against his fellow Serpent Guards. After returning to Earth, O'Neill recommended that Teal'c join SG-1. (SG1: "Children of the Gods") After Teal'c helped stop the Goa'uld that had taken over Major Charles Kawalsky from escaping through the Stargate, he was allowed to join SG-1. (SG1: "The Enemy Within") While on a mission to P3X-797 with SG-3 the human members of the teams became infected with the Touched virus but luckily a cure was developed which SG-1 helped distribute on P3X-797. (SG1: "The Broca Divide")

When communication was lost with SG-9, SG-1 was sent to locate them, finding that the team's commander Captain Jonas Hanson was ruling over the local population as a god; they eventually convinced the people that he was not a god and helped activate a force field over part of the planet to protect the people from intense radiation. (SG1: "The First Commandment") SG-1 made contact with the Nox and intended to try to make contact with the Asgard, resulting in O'Neill and Teal'c being trapped in the Labyrinth on Cimmeria and having to destroy Thor's Hammer to get Teal'c out. (SG1: "The Nox", "Brief Candle", "Thor's Hammer") The team was joined by Catherine Langford to find her former fiance Ernest Littlefield who went through the Stargate in 1945 and found proof that the Stargate was not built by the Goa'uld. (SG1: "The Torment of Tantalus")

The team was taken by the Oannes Nem who gave fake memories of Daniel Jackson's death to the rest of the team in order to find out what had happened to his mate Omoroca; the team eventually learned the truth and went back for Jackson. (SG1: "Fire and Water") While visiting Cartago Teal'c is accused of murder and put onto trial and the rest of SG-1 served as his defenders. (SG1: "Cor-ai") They went to a planet in the middle of volcanic eruptions and rescued several Tollans, later helping them escape through the Stargate to join the Nox. (SG1: "Enigma") On a mission to P4A-771 they came under attack and the Stargate was struck by energy weapons fire and overloaded sending O'Neill and Carter throught the Stargate hidden in Antarctica. (SG1: "Solitudes") The Altairan Harlan stunned SG-1 when they came to Altair and created synthetic duplicates of the team. (SG1: "Tin Man")

While on a mission on P3R-233 Jackson disappeared and the team had to bring in help to find him; when they did he warned them that the Goa'uld were coming to Earth after witnessing a similar event in an alternate reality. The team joined Major General George Hammond in briefing Senator Robert Kinsey on the importance of the SGC after Kinsey decided to cut their funding completely; Kinsey was unmoved even after being told of the incoming attack. Deciding that they had to do something about the attack, SG-1 went through the Stargate without authorization and boarded a ship headed for Earth. After being captured they teamed with Bra'tac to destroy both of the ships sent to Earth. (SG1: "There But for the Grace of God", "Politics", "Within the Serpent's Grasp", "The Serpent's Lair")

SG-1 helped evacuate the Nasyans from their world when they were attacked by the Goa'uld and were then tasked with trying to find a new world for them to go to. (SG1: "In the Line of Duty") The team helped a man who was running from someone and were tried for murder alongside him, being sent through the Stargate to the prison planet Hadante. They made friends with Linea who was able to provide them with a power source to manually dial out the Stargate and escape. (SG1: "Prisoners") SG-1 were pulled into Virtual reality chairs and forced to relive some of their traumatic pasts, they eventually escaped and allowed the other people in the chairs to reclaim their world. (SG1: "The Gamekeeper") The team was captured on P3R-636 and put into the mine and the Princess Shyla took an interest in Jackson who eventually negotiated for their release. (SG1: "Need")

When it was discovered that the Goa'uld had invaded Cimmeria, SG-1 returned to help free the Cimmerians. They made contact with Thor and he arrived to remove the Goa'uld presence from the planet. (SG1: "Thor's Chariot") They brought back an Orb from P5C-353 which anchored itself with spikes in the gateroom and began releasing an organism throughout the base. (SG1: "Message in a Bottle") SG-1 returned to Chulak to free Teal'c's son Rya'c from Apophis, bringing him back to Earth. (SG1: "Family") O'Neill and Carter attended an award ceremony while Jackson and Teal'c went to Abydos and were later reunited when O'Neill and Carter arrived to find that Heru'ur had come to the planet and they fought him and his forces. (SG1: "Secrets")

While exploring BP6-3Q1, Teal'c was stung by an alien insect which began to change his DNA. (SG1: "Bane") SG-1 went in search of the Tok'ra and made contact with them but were unable to offer anything of value to the Tok'ra so they refused to form an alliance and told them that they would remain as their guests while the Tok'ra searched for a new base location. When SG-1 helped them discover a spy, helped them evacuate their base and provided a host for a dying Tok'ra, they were thankful of SG-1. (SG1: "The Tok'ra, Part 1", "The Tok'ra, Part 2") O'Neill was injured so the rest of SG-1 had to go to PXY-887 to locate SG-11. The team came back with SG-11, who were actually aliens pretending to be SG-11. (SG1: "Spirits") SG-1 went to Madrona and were shown the Touchstone, they returned to examine the Touchstone again but it had been stolen. They returned to Earth to help find it, discovering that someone had used the second Stargate to go to Madrona to steal it. They went to Area 51 to check on the second Stargate, finding it had been replaced with a fake. Tracking the second Stargate down, they recovered the Touchstone. (SG1: "Touchstone")

When SG-10 didn't return, SG-1 was going to join the group to go and locate them but discovered that the planet they were on was being sucked into a Black hole and there was nothing they could do. (SG1: "A Matter of Time") SG-1 met Ma'chello, a man wanted by the Goa'uld, and he used a device to switch bodies with Jackson. (SG1: "Holiday") After receiving a set of coordinates, SG-1 went to a planet thinking it was the Tok'ra trying to contact them but a Death glider crashed and they found Apophis aboard. (SG1: "Serpent's Song") The team went to PJ2-445 where they encountered some strange aliens that began to fall ill. Thinking they were responsible for exposing them to some sort of pathogen, they soon discovered that a UAV had damaged an organism that had a symbiotic relationship with the aliens. They managed to restore both the aliens and the organism. (SG1: "One False Step")

The team joined other team to perform reconnaissance on a planet that the Reetou Rebels were using as a staging area for an attack on Earth. (SG1: "Show and Tell") SG-1 were going on a mission to P2X-555 when they were sent back in time to 1969. Helped by Lieutenant George Hammond, they escaped and traveled across the United States of America to locate the Stargate and get back to their own time. They journeyed with Michael and Jenny, who overheard them speaking and SG-1 pretended that they were from another world and needed help to get home. They located the Stargate but were accidentally sent forward decades past the time they wanted; they were sent back by Cassandra. (SG1: "1969")

They were captured by Hathor who left Teal'c behind and took the others into a fake SGC, pretending that they had been frozen and awoke in the year 2077. The plan was to get them to reveal what they knew about the other Goa'uld and the civilizations that SG-1 had met, but they uncovered the truth and defeated Hathor. (SG1: "Out of Mind", "Into the Fire") SG-1 joined Jacob Carter in searching on Earth for the Goa'uld Seth, finding him running a cult near Seattle. (SG1: "Seth") While exploring a planet SG-1 found the dead bodies of the Linvris, a small group of Goa'uld and Jackson was affected by a Goa'uld-killing organism. (SG1: "Legacy")

The team met the Orbanians and negotiated for an exchange, with Jackson helping them with their archaeological endeavors and them giving them an Orbanian Naquadah reactor to study. (SG1: "Learning Curve") The team visited an alternate reality to help an alternate SGC make contact with the Asgard to help free their Earth from Apophis. (SG1: "Point of View") The team was captured by the bounty hunter Aris Boch who made a deal with them to let them go if they helped him capture a Goa'uld; it was discovered he was in fact trying to capture a Tok'ra. (SG1: "Deadman's Switch") SG-1 were accused of being possessed by demons on a planet and were given up as sacrifices to a demon - a Goa'ulded-Unas working for Sokar. Luckily they were able to escape the Goa'uld was killed. (SG1: "Demons")

They went to investigate a camp seen by a UAV and met SG-X, humans serving Apophis and pretending to be SG team members in order to infiltrate Earth. They showed them footage of Apophis' death, showing them that he was not a god and they all returned to their homes. (SG1: "Rules of Engagement") SG-1 went with other teams to help free some Abydonians that had been taken by Amaunet. (SG1: "Forever in a Day") They met the Vyans, discovering that they all had amnesia and that Linea, the Destroyer of Worlds, was responsible. (SG1: "Past and Present") The team were on a planet and when they returned to the SGC, they were sedated as the base had been taken over by aliens. O'Neill and Jackson were duplicated by the aliens using Mimic devices but it wouldn't work on Carter and Teal'c. (SG1: "Foothold")

SG-1 were invited to Tollana to take part in a Triad, a trial to determine if Klorel or Skaara had control of Skaara's body. O'Neill and Jackson took part and Carter and Teal'c followed some Jaffa of the Goa'uld taking part in the Triad. (SG1: "Pretense") The team visited P4X-884 but had no memory of going to the planet and it was found that they had small devices installed in their brains. The devices allowed them to communicate with the artificial intelligence Urgo who increases their senses to gather information from their experiences. Unable to continue as SG-1, they make contact with Urgo's creators and convince them to remove the devices. When they return to Earth they have no memory of what happened on the planet. (SG1: "Urgo")

Visiting Edora, the team discovers that the planet is going to be hit by meteors and gets persmission to take as many of the Edorans back to Earth. (SG1: "A Hundred Days") SG-1 went to Tollana to try to negotiate for technology but the Tollan refused so O'Neill stole some of their technology. He was forced to retire for this and Colonel Makepeace was put in command of the team. O'Neill returned after it was revealed that it had all been a ploy to capture the Rogue NID stealing technology and Makepeace was found to be part of them. (SG1: "Shades of Grey") The team was captured on P2X-416 and assumed to be a rival countries spies and interrogated; they managed to escape back to Earth. (SG1: "New Ground")

They eventually regained their memories and help relocate the slaves to have a better life. (SG1: "Beneath the Surface") SG-1 went to investigate a man who claimed to know about the Stargate and discovered that he was from another planet and there were others of his people on Earth. (SG1: "Point of No Return") SG-1 was present for the test flight of the X-301 with O'Neill and Teal'c piloting the vessel. Carter and Jackson went offworld for help in rescuing them when the vessel flew off into space. (SG1: "Tangent") The team got involved in examining some artefacts found in Egypt that contained Goa'uld symbiotes and had to go after Osiris. (SG1: "The Curse")

SG-1 went with Jacob Carter to reprogram a Tobin Mine as part of a plan to stop an alliance between Apophis and Heru'ur, instead making them go to war with one another. (SG1: "The Serpent's Venom") When Major General Johnathan Bauer took command of the SGC, he removed Carter, Jackson and Teal'c from SG-1. They were later reinstated when Hammond returned. (SG1: "Chain Reaction") The team had a planned mission to P4C-970 but they recieved a note through the Stargate apparently from O'Neill at some point in the future warning them not to go so the mission was scrubbed. After learning how they were affected, they returned to rescue O'Neill and decided to help the Reole escape. (SG1: "The Fifth Man") The team visited K'Tau where their wormhole accidentally caused their star to shift which would lead to the planet becoming uninhabitable. They worked on plans to help the people but they failed, luckily the Asgard decided to step in and fix the problem. (SG1: "Red Sky")

(SG1: "Desperate Measures") Martin Lloyd, who had blocked his memories, wrote a television show called Wormhole X-Treme! about a team that went through a "star portal" to visit other worlds, which was similar to the exploits of SG-1. The team investigated the show and tried to track down Peter Tanner and his men. (SG1: "Wormhole X-Treme!") SG-1 took part in several training exercises with new SGC recruits.
