Portrayed by

Carmen Argenziano, Joy Coghill

"Selmak is a wonderful Tok'ra. She is selfless and caring, she is good company. She has a wonderful sense of humour."
- Saroosh - The Tok'ra, Part 2

Selmak was a Tok'ra.

Selmak was one of the oldest of the Tok'ra. In 1998 they had been in the host Saroosh for many years, with Saroosh reaching the age of 203, but Saroosh was dying and Selmak needed a new host. (SG1: "The Tok'ra, Part 1") Selmak met Jacob Carter, a potential host, and interviewed him asking what he thought of the Goa'uld and if he was a good man. Jacob told them that it didn't matter as both of them were dying so had no choice but did say that the whole idea scared him; Selmak decided that they like Jacob and accepted him as a host. Selmak entered Jacob through the mouth and as Saroosh died, they said goodbye to their old friend before falling unconscious as they attempted to cure Jacob's cancer. A short while later, Selmak had healed Jacob and the two fled through the Stargate to Earth to escape a Goa'uld attack. (SG1: "The Tok'ra, Part 2")

Called to Earth, Selmak was asked if he knew that a Reetou was and then sent another Tok'ra back to get Transphase Eradication Rods. He was able to sense a general direction of where a group of Reetou were located and later told Teal'c to remain vigilant as the only one at the SGC that could sense the invisible Reetou. (SG1: "Show and Tell") Selmak requested a mission to Earth having grown annoyed at Jacob's issues with the strained relationship with his son and hoping that something could be done about it. When on Earth they located the Goa'uld Seth and Selmak approached him, but was thrown back before he could stop Seth. (SG1: "Seth") When heading towards Earth to rescue Jack O'Neill and Teal'c aboard the X-301, Selmak asked Carter and Daniel if they didn't know about the Recall device and that the Tok'ra were only recently aware of them. (SG1: "Tangent")

When Apophis and Heru'ur were discussing an alliance, Selmak stated that such an alliance would be threat to the System Lords. He then told them about the Tobin Mines and the plan to use them to get Apophis and Heru'ur to fight one another instead. When Apophis killed Heru'ur, Selmak remarked that it was the worst outcome as it had made Apophis was now a much bigger threat. (SG1: "The Serpent's Venom") When the Tok'ra gained access to a Ha'tak so they could move to a new base, Selmak let Tanith know that they were aware he was a spy and had murdered Shaun'auc. (SG1: "Exodus") Selmak identified themselves as commander of the ship, to which Jack O'Neill was annoyed with as SG-1 had captured the ship and loaned it to the Tok'ra. (SG1: "Enemies")

Selmak took on the role of a minor Goa'uld in Yu's forces. (SG1: "Summit") When Daniel Jackson told him that Anubis was the Goa'uld behind the attacks on the System Lords, Selmak said that he was dead and wondered where he had been for the last 1000 years. He told Jackson that Anubis had been banished by the System Lords because his crimes were unspeakable, even to the Goa'uld, and that there must be something else going on rather than Anubis wanting to regain the rank of System Lord. (SG1: "Last Stand") When Jackson had been exposed to a fatal amount of radiation, Selmak stated that he may be able to save him with a Goa'uld Healing device but probably wouldn't be able to restore him to a healthy state. (SG1: "Meridian") When Jacob was shot in the back with a Staff weapon, Selmak worked on healing him quickly. (SG1: "Descent")

Selmak was sickened when they learned that Kanan had used Jack O'Neill, completely taking him over to accomplish a personal mission. When the Tok'ra evacuated to the Alpha Site after an attack, Selmak agreed that the Za'tarc Detector should be used to find any spies among them. (SG1: "Allegiance") When O'Neill regressed age by 30 years over night, Selmak analyzed his DNA to find that he was a clone. (SG1: "Fragile Balance") Selmak examined the cells of a Kull Warrior to find that it had been given life after it had grown. They mentioned the Goa'uld Telchak who had a device built by the Ancients that could revive the dead. (SG1: "Evolution, Part 1") Selmak later said that they would walk through the Stargate on Tartarus wearing the Kull armor in order to gain access. (SG1: "Evolution, Part 2")

Selmak learned that the High Council no longer trusted them, believing that Jacob had too much sway over them. (SG1: "Death Knell") Selmak began to die but Jacob refused to let him go, thinking that he was needed to help stop the Replicators. (SG1: "Threads") He worked with Samantha Carter on deciphering a wall of Ancient text on Dakara and got inside where an Ancient weapon was kept. Wanting to use the weapon to destroy the Replicators by sending its energy through every Stargate, Selmak replied that he had no idea how to make the Stargate do that. With the weapon ready, it was activated and the Replicators were destroyed but Selmak fell into a coma. (SG1: "Reckoning, Part 2") Unconscious, Selmak had no possibility of dying without releasing the toxin that would kill Jacob and the two died together. (SG1: "Threads")
