A Tel'tak is a Goa'uld cargo ship.

Overview

Areas

Control area

The front area of the ship has a control area with two seats with the main steering console. A center console has an auto-destruct control system. Four escape pods are located at the back of the room. The entrance to the ship lies to the side. (SG1: "Deadman's Switch")

Cargo area

The back area is for cargo storage, sealed off by a door. (SG1: "Deadman's Switch")

Engine room

There is an area at the back of the ship where the engine control systems are located. (SG1: "Prometheus Unbound")

Restroom

A small restroom is located at the back of the ship. (SG1: "Fail Safe")

Technology

There is a small systems panel with control crystals located at the back of the cargo area. (SG1: "Fail Safe")

Hyperdrive

The ships have a hyperdrive that can travel at twice the Speed of Light but it can be pushed to at least 132% of their maximum capacity.. (SG1: "Deadman's Switch", "Tangent")

Sublight engine

The ships have sublight engines for moving around. (SG1: "Fail Safe")

Thrusters

There are maneuvering thrusters that can slow down the ship. (SG1: "Fail Safe")

Cloak

Tel'tak's can have a cloaking device that can be modulated around the entrance when it is open to make only the entrance visible. (SG1: "Deadman's Switch")

Ring Transporter

The ship has a Ring Transporter located on the underside. (SG1: "Children of the Gods") Another one is located inside the cargo area. (SG1: "Jolinar's Memories", "The Devil You Know")

Auto-destruct

Tel'taks can have an auto-destruct system installed. (SG1: "Deadman's Switch")

Escape pods

Four escape pods are situated on the ship. (SG1: "Deadman's Switch") The pods are launched through tubes that lead to the underside of the ship. (SG1: "Jolinar's Memories")

History

The Tok'ra Korra used a Tel'tak to escape from Sokar's territory. The ship was later taken by the Bounty hunter Aris Boch who trapped SG-1 inside. Boch later destroyed the ship to fake his own death to Sokar. (SG1: "Deadman's Switch") Jolinar escaped aboard a Tel'tak which the Tok'ra took possession of and was later used to transport SG-1 and Martouf to Netu. Teal'c left Netu when the ship was being attacked and returned to Vorash where he was joined by Aldwin. Teal'c used the ship to intercept a matter stream from Netu with SG-1, Martouf and Jacob Carter. (SG1: "Jolinar's Memories", "The Devil You Know")
